About the Heuristic Trojan Warning:
Some antivirus programs use heuristic detection, which means they look for patterns or behavior that resemble malware, even when no virus is present.

This game’s save/packaging system triggers a false positive in a few AV engines because of how files are compressed and updated, but there is no actual trojan in the game.

You can confirm this by checking VirusTotal, only one small obscure engine flags it, and none of the major reputable ones do.

The game is safe to play. We are working on adjusting the save/build system to avoid future false positives.

Platform 8 is a small 2D experimental horror platformer made in Godot.

It’s not a polished AAA game, and it’s not pretending to be. This is a short project created to explore how “Exit 8-style” anomaly detection could work in a side-scrolling format, part test, part experience, part weird idea that somehow kept going.

There’s a looping platform.
Sometimes things change.
Sometimes they don’t.
Sometimes something tries to kill you.

The visuals, gameplay, and length are all intentionally simple, more proof of concept than product. The goal isn’t to impress, but to exist: to see how far a small idea can go without promising too much.

If you like short experimental projects, strange moods, or just want to see what a 2D “Exit 8” might look like, this is that — nothing more, nothing less.

No promises of quality, no marketing spin.
